We just got back from spending the day in a nearby village doing a mobile medical clinic....but first, yesterday's pics....
Yesterday morning we walked down the street to a warehouse owned by the Alliance- used for medical supplies. Along the way we spied some neighborhood kids having a tea party....one of those universal things, I guess!
One of our jobs when we got there was to move these boxes of medical supplies out of the shipping container...
and into the warehouse
It looked overwhelming and like we'd be there all day, but many hands make work light and we were done alot sooner than expected, with time to relax before dinner!
We ended our day by meeting with the missionary doctor and nurse that we worked with today, and even learned "This is the day that the Lord has made" in French! It was alot of fun and a great introduction into the hearts of Pastor Jacob, Mama Janine, her husband.
We started the day at 7:15 this morning w/a quick breakfast, then headed out in 2 vans to a school in a village about 45 minutes away. It was the first time we'd seen Gabon in the daylight from a vehicle. The scenery was AWESOME! A true picture of the diversity in this country. We saw all kinds of homes, businesses and markets. Some pretty shabby and some quite lovely...all very interesting.
We all really enjoyed our day getting a glimpse of Libreville and the people who live here. The children at the school fell in love with our students. There was an impromptu soccer game that I believe our students LOST...badly! But, it was really so much fun! The highlight of the day was when Sydney gave her testimony followed by one of the Pastors sharing the gospel. Over 90 students came forward to accept Christ at an invitation and recited the sweetest prayer in French w/him. The local church will follow up with them in the coming weeks...What an awesome sight, and a great way to begin our week!
We're back at the house now, waiting for dinner and then a debrief time. Tomorrow's plan is to visit a market and then spend the afternoon at the Hope House orphanage...goodnight to all, and thank you for all the comments, the kids LOVE reading them!!!

Leah, we love you and pray that you are open to the work Jesus wants to do in your life on this trip. Let Him guide your hands, feet, heart and mind! We are so excited for you! So, Buddy keeps looking for you. He'll run into your room, jump on your bed then run to me with this puzzled look on his face. It's hysterical :) We are so grateful and thankful for this blog, Terri! If it's not asking too much, we'd love to see a pix of you Leah. Don't forget to take pictures, too! Jenna and Kendra called to see how you are. I'm to pass on that they miss you! Wow! We love seeing all the pictures and reading the commentary, Ter. What a day you had...was it yesterday?? Hard to keep track of the time difference! 90 kids praying to receive Christ simply overwhelms me and brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart! It is so worth all the money, time and separation to hear such good news! I also pray that every one of our kids will have a vibrant testimony to share which will cross cultural and language barriers and resonate with these precious people to whom God has sent you.
Emma had fun with Hannah at the mall this morning and then with Tam's kids this afternoon here. Alex and Kelly are coming for dinner and then we will go out to the mall...again!..to look at computers. We are enjoying having them here!
Nick, hope you are learning a lot(...French?! You can talk with Justin!)...and working hard. I know you are doing a great job and loving the little kids.
Miss you both and all the rest of the gang as well. Just love seeing your little faces mingled with those adorable little black ones...be sure to get one of each of you for all of us here! Thanks for taking the time to do all this, Terri! It beats texting any day!!!

soo i saw these really really really AWESOME shoes at the mall today and there only 39.45....so if you could send about 20 dollars that would be great!!!ohh and the kittens are getting soo BIG... and cutee!! they have names too...the white one is colbie(girl), black is sophie(girl,thankfully), and the gray is ashton(boy)....im gonna send you some pitures of them but through email so if you can you should check it soo you can see how cute they are!!!

And yet, buttons can provide pictures and words, but what makes the difference in lives is the service and caring which comes from going and giving. My prayer is that the self-centeredness which we seem to have ingrained in our lives from the prosperity of our own country, as wonderful as it is, will be replaced this week for a God-Centeredness and when you all return we will be in awe of Gods goodness and usefulness in your lives. Nick, I don't know whats going on with you, but may the bond you and I have be a special extension into the lives of these beautiful children. How exciting it must have been to see these students come forward to accept Christ! That's what its all about. I love the pic. of your holding hands together with theirs and Amber (cute pic) it looks like you are having fun and are making some new friends. May they see Jesus's love through each of you. They look like very friendly, fun, beautiful people. Nate, I'm sure your having a great time and taking it all in too. It's a once in a lifetime experience you won't want to forget. Aaron's team won the championship 8-6 and he had 2 more RBI's. Ethan won 1st game of playoffs. Amber, got stuff mailed off today. Love you both and continue to pray for you. Mom
Holly, It seems like Sydney might want to stay in Gabon too. Wow, Sydney, how God works through you wherever you are--what a blessing. Nathan, the budgies are safely in Potter Co., and I'm back with Gorby, Skirt, Rainbow, and Bunny. All are well. I know that God will sustain all of you through the coming days. We love you.

Ali and Alex - I am so proud of you for being willing to get out of your comfort zone and go where God wanted you to be. Know that we are praying for you (and the entire team) daily, if not hourly. I have decided that Drew is the neat one in the family. The house is soooo clean right now. We may have to work on that when you get home :) Make sure you bring home an African souvenier for a certain member of the house who shall remain nameless. Love you tons!
PS Are you taking you Malaria pills and be sure to take LOTS of pictures. Can't wait to see them.

Hello my Drewcums... i was thinking about you on my way home from work because i heard a song and was remembering when you told me what the actual words are. what memories. Make sure you are taking lots of pictures.. of everything.
Also, while you're in the bush if you could pick up a monkey that would be great. You could just stick it in the beautiful big african bag that you're getting me and bring it home that way. I think the monkey would get along well with my pitbull puppy. Booty is asking me to say hello for him. He says that he would also enjoy it if you brought home a monkey. He would like to swing on the ceiling fan with it. Bring home some african chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!

she is no longer happy to beg for every animal that comes into the humane league... she now wants african, exotic animals!!! forget the monkey and just bring her a bag!! i agree tho... lots of pics and jouraling are expected!! (please!!! :)
