His marvelous deeds among all peoples.

quick prayer requests...

we're packing up the vans, getting ready to leave for the bush. Could you remember us this morning? Bethany and I are both feeling a little queasy this morning....the thought of a 3 hr ride in the van does not sit well with an upset stomach. Please pray for us if you are up at this early hour! We've got water ready for the trip and hope to close our eyes and when we reopen them, be out in the bush!

Pray, too, for our attitudes...a few nights with little sleep, little water, little personal space could prove to make us all a little testy. Pray that we remember the reason we are here and choose to serve the Lord...even when it's hard.

Thank you for your prayer support and care!!!

Dad and I just prayed for those requests and will be praying specifically these next 4 days. We pray for the car ride that it would go quickly! Prayed that this will unite your team even more and bring you closer to Jesus. I am still in awe that He chose each of YOU for this specific time and for this specific purpose. Love each of you, especially you Leah! Can't wait to hear all about this time in your life!

Oh, Ter...sorry to hear that you and Bethany are not up to snuff this morning. I prayed for you all on my walk this morning, but know that that is several hours into your day. By now you have arrived and I pray you both will be well. May God have given you an extra measure of His strength. As you read this several days from now, may you have seen the goodness of the Lord in every situation. I love you...Mom

Hi Bethany - I tried to post much earlier, but it did not take. You can be positive that I was praying for both you and Terri as soon as I got the word. I thought about Paul's catalogue of hardships that he endured for the sake of Gospel [see 2nd Corinthians 11:16-33] and am so proud of all you for being willing to use your beautiful feet to go and share the Good News - in spite of it all - roughing it in the Bush. Know that Mom and I have you and everybody in our thoughts and prayers and Joel prayed for you too at our last meal - amazing! GOD bless you guys - one and all - real good! - Dad & Fred

Hi Leah,
Mommom & I prayed for you and the team as you began you first day in the bush. I know it will be a new experience one that is a bit scary but exciting at the same time. We pray that you will be a blessing to those you come in contact with and that what you say and do will be enough to win some soul(s) to Christ. WE LOVE YOU!!

Hello Team:
Well, you are hopefully sound asleep in the bush right now, minus the rubber snakes and any other real creepy bush visitors. Your trip sounds amazing, life changing and a real blessing to the kids in Libreville. Thanks to Tim and Meredith for the great job of hosting all of you. We will certainly look forward to your many reports when you return.
Love and Prayers, Dot and Frank

I missed a blog entry for today, but will look forward to hearing all about your adventures in a couple of days. Jared - Chris Heisy has been chosen to play in the MLB Futures Game(July 12 ESPN) and has been promoted to Triple-A Louisville. Halle-girl - had dinner w/ Connie C last night. Rayna is doing good and checks the LAC blogspot often to see how you are. Good night/good morning..xxoo

Hey everyone...prayed throughout the day for your first day/night in the bush. You made it! We're getting ready for bed and you're most likely getting ready soon for your 2nd day...praying for extra courage and faith for each one of you as you continue this journey. We can't wait to talk to you! Leah, we are so proud of you! Andrew comes home from Camp Susque on Sat. He called today and the first thing he asked was about you :) Praying for God's protection, strength, courage and faith to get all of you through each day, esp. these next 3 days.
Terri, thank you so very much for all the time it takes to write this blog and download pictures. What a blessing! Sending much love and hugs to each one of you, mostly to you, Leah!

It is Friday morning here and I have been praying constantly for you all out there bushwacking! Hope Terri and Bethany weathered the ride okay and arrived well. Also trust you got some sleep last night after a long, leasurely soak in the creek! I woke up many times thinking about you all out there under the stars, praying that the mosquito nets kept the bugs out and you in safely! We are having cool weather here and off and on rain, but the weekend looks nice. Ter and Nick, we will miss you so much at Long's Park on Sunday night! Won't be the same without you! Nick, hope "camping in Africa" was all you hoped it would be and more! I know you will come home a different young man for all your experiences there and we can't wait to hear about them all...maybe after you get a couple of good days of sleep here! Emma is at Aunt Tam's last night and this morning and then we are off to do something fun for the afternoon. She is doing fine.
Love you, Mom

HI Ter and Nick...You are in the heat of the day on Saturday there as I write this at 9am here. Hope you are getting a lot accomplished and everyone is feeling okay. May God continue to protect you and give you daily strength and grace to see your work completed. Thanks for the birthday card via email! And thanks for thinking of it in your busy days preparing to go to the BUSH! Miss you so much today! We will go to the pool for a bit and then get GG and have a picnic here and then find some fireworks. It is a cool lovely day, so unlike many 4ths! Enjoyed taking Emma to the Crayola Factory yesterday and seeing her "little girl" side shine! She is so precious to us. Haven't seen too much of Alex but he seems to be doing okay. Hopefully you have been hearing from him once in a while! Hope you are sleeping! UMMM...no monkey, giraffe or snakes, please! Just bring yourselves home safely! Love you lots, Mom

Bonjour, from Paris! It is crazy crazy hot here (like, seriously-I-think-I'm-going-to-die hot), although I'm sure it's far worse where you are. Granted, I have to say, I am so inSANEly jealous of your trip to the bush, having grown up gawking over pictures of the incredible wildlife, the African skies. I hope, amidst all the mosquito bites and sweaty clothes, that you get a chance to appreciate the lifestyle, the culture, the amazing attitude of the people you are meeting. Do things you would never do back at home.

Just for the record, market etiquette is exactly the same here in France. It must be an international mindset - crazy! So much fun though. Nick - Make your true-American mom eat something exotic and adventurous and African! None of this "pizza" stuff! I hear the ants there are quite a delicacy... (I'm dead serious!)

Anyway, just wanted to stop by and say hi. Thinking of you, and can't wait to see you again.

Make it fierce.

Having just celebrated our Independence Day, I was thinking of you and how strange it must have seemed to be out of the U.S. during July 4th...
Well, this is your last day in the Bush! I wonder how you are feeling. Mixed emotions? Happy to get back to "civilization" yet sad to see this phase of your ministry come to an end? What surprised you? Was your camping experience better than expected (Holly)? Would you do it again?
I pray for your safe return to your home base and for the final days of your ministry.
Thank you for serving and for participating in God's work in such a tangible way.
I look forward to the testimonies of these last 4 days and ultimately to your final return on Wednesday.

Hi Terri and Nick...last day in the BUSH! Excited or sad to see it pass? I can only imagine your Sunday service there, so unlike ours here with AC, familiar faces, well-tuned instruments, etc. I imagine yours was quite different. God is truly "a God nearby and a God far away" as Jeremiah said. What an awsome experience for you to see how others worship such a great God! Praying it was so much more than you anticipated.
We are off to Long's Park for the annual fireworks, missing you lots. Emma is trying to find something fun to do with herself since Grandma won't let her watch the Disney channel one more minute! She is reading and making bracelets and I think I hear Grandpa's iPhone in the background on which she is probably playing games. What on earth do kids do there for fun without all the electronics???? Took Alex and Bryn to lunch with us...what a pair! Alex will be glad to have his family back home!
Love you both and can't wait to see you! Mom/Grandmanocersog

Hi Everyone - Welcome back from the "dark side of the moon!" I love the economy of GOD'S plan and purpose as expressed by Derwin Gray [former NFL player and now a pastor] ... think on this thought as you strive to finish strongly in GABON - GOD the FATHER sent the SON, the FATHER and SON sent the HOLY SPIRIT, and now the FATHER, the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT send HIS people, the Church, into the world to be HIS Missionaries ... Praise GOD for HIS faithful plan and your faithful obedience to HIS leading in all of your lives ... as ever, in HIM and HIM alone, Fred (and Dad)

Welcome back to Libreville, Terri and Nick! It is 8am here and I am hoping you are back "home" now safe and sound and ready for a day of rest. We are praying for your safe return and so excited to hear about all the Lord has done in and through you. We all miss your blog so much and hope you will not be too tired to write sometime before you go to bed tonight. This is a big week of homecomings for us with Justin returning from Paris tonight and then you on Wednesday! Can't wait! Emma is doing fine and enjoying all the attention and we are loving having her. Alex is fine...I will check on the bachelor pad today! love and hugs to you both...Mom

Hi Nate, Welcome back! You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. I hope you had a great time in the Bush, found no mosquitos or snakes, but got to clear land and have even more fun doing it than clearing Grandma and Grandpa's knotwood. July 4 at the market was OK--Grandma sold some (your remote control truck went), Dick from Market has your blogspot address, and took us out to the Antler's for dinner--your favorite, the Log Cabin, is still the best. Albert asked about you at market, and Beanie was there. We love you, hope you had a great time, and that the entire team comes away feeling like you have helped Tim and Meredith. Feel free to leave any toiletries there, or anything else that they can use. Well, I'm back home, and off to school. Love, M

welcome back! our thoughts and prayers have been constant with your group!! can't wait to hear how it went.
drew, just thought i would let you know that dave had no time to share any african stories saturday night. he was very busy playing master of ceremonies!.... and enjoying every minute of the microphone! of course he entertained us with funny comments and music. they really outdid themselves this year... dunk tank, bouncyroom, cottoncandy machine, lots of food and the fireworks. it was like a fair! many people felt the fireworks were better than longs park. a neighbor of his went in on them this year... so they seemed never ending.:) even dave was surprised at how many kept going off! the sky was absolutly gorgeous that night.... it made me wonder what your sunsets looked like over there!
i hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy the time you have left in africa! love you lots!!

Hi Ter- am glad everyone is back with great things to share. Am especially glad that you were spared a sickness which would have topped any camping experience you had as a child- imagine it in the bush. We are all anxiously awaiting your return and continue to pray for your safety and wellbeing. Love you Dad

As for Nick- Hope you are having a heart experience but am sure we all want to hear your story first-hand. I miss you and can hardly wait to have you back, but am thankful you can go in all of our places. Love you Nick- Grandpa
